Kamal completed his pupilage at Messrs Mohamed Noor Don & Associates wherein he was exposed to various fields of law such as litigation, conveyancing, industrial relations as well as syariah. Kamal was admitted to the Bar in year 2006. After completing his pupilage, he joined Messrs Iqbal Hakim Sia & Voo from year 2006 – 2007.
Prior to joining Rohamat & Ling, Kamal was working as a legal assistant in Messrs K.K.Lim & Associates from year 2007 – 2012. Kamal has more than 10 years of experience in conveyancing and corporate banking field and he has extensive experience in dealing with clients, drafting legal documentations and have a thorough knowledge of the process and procedures of conveyancing and corporate banking environment. Kamal’s current practice mainly consists of matters involving property and land transactions as well as finance and banking matters.
Alan commenced his pupilage in Messrs Karpal Singh & Co. under the late Mr Karpal Singh. He was admitted to the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur in 2009.
Alan later chambered in Sarawak in Messrs Suhaili & Ling (formerly known as Messrs Suhaili & Bong) and was admitted to the High Court of Sabah & Sarawak in Sarawak in 2010. In October 2011, he was admitted to the partnership of the same.
Alan was subsequently elected and has served as honourable member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly from 2011 until 2016.
Bernard read his chambers in year 2007 under the tutelage of Mr. Chung Swee Loong of Messrs. Albar & Partners (who has been recognized as one of the most highly recommended Asia-Pacific-focused lawyers in the practice area of Banking for three (3) successive years by Asialaw in its 2008, 2009 & 2010 Asialaw Leading Lawyers survey). He was called to the bar in October 2008 and he then joined Messrs K.K.LIM & Associates engaging in Property & Land transaction matters, Banking & Finance matters, and general Corporate & Commercial matters.
HongYi is a partner of Rohamat & Ling. Prior to setting up the firm, he served the Government of Malaysia as Federal Counsel between 2007 and 2010. He was posted in the International Affairs Division of the Attorney General?s Chambers (AGC) in Putrajaya. His principal areas of practice as Federal Counsel are focused on Drafting and Vetting of International Agreements, Treaties, Memorandums, and advising the Government of Malaysia on International Law and International Human Rights Law. He also represented the Government of Malaysia in attending various overseas as well as local meetings including seminars and conferences. HongYi then started practising in M/s Ong Ban Chai & Co. in Johor Bahru between 2010 and 2012. He was heavily involved in taking part of the firm?s general litigation and insolvency litigation. Despite the short span, HongYi has acted for clients across a diversified range of industries and has advised clients on issues relating to Company Law, Family Law, Commercial Law, Banking Law and many other areas of law.
Mark completed his pupilage, retained and practice as legal associate at Messrs Zul Rafique & Partners, a Legal 500 status firm. Mark was admitted to the Bar in year 2010. During his tenure with Messrs Zul Rafique & Partners, his principal areas of practice are corporate finance, capital markets, offshore financing, corporate debt rescheduling, Islamic financing and the issuance of private debt securities including asset-backed securitisation, commercial papers and medium term notes and programmes (both conventional and under the Islamic syariah principals), convertible exchangeable bonds and other hybrid papers.
Shawn commenced his pupilage in Messrs Tan Goh & Associates and was subsequently retained as a Legal Assistant. He was admitted to the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur in 2008.
In 2011, he joined Law Chamber of Dahlia Lee & Co. (formerly known as Messrs Jagjit Singh Lee & Co.) as a Legal Assistant. In October 2012, he was admitted to the partnership of the same.
Prior to joining Rohamat & Ling he has handled a variety of litigation cases, up to the Federal Court, involving matters on employment, family dispute, divorce, land transactions, contractual disputes, commercial contracts, banking matters, landlord and tenancy, winding-up, bankruptcy, shareholders dispute, boardroom tussle, corporate litigation.
Kevin commenced his pupillage in Messrs Azman, Davidson & Co under the tutelage of Lt. (Rtd) Paul K.W Kwong (RMN) and was admitted to the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur in 2010. Kevin then joined Messrs The Chambers of Kamarul Hisham & Hasnal Rezua which specialises in complex criminal and civil litigations. In 2013, upon gaining experience in criminal matters, Kevin joined Messrs Scivetti & Associates which specialises in corporate industrial relations and tort matters. Kevin then set up his own practice in 2015 under the name of Messrs The Chambers of KK Tan.
Prior to joining Rohamat & Ling in 2022, Kevin has handled various criminal litigation matters such as Penal Code Offences, Dangerous Drugs Act Offences, Extradition Act Offences, Immigration Act Offences, Habeas Corpus Applications, Road Transport Act offences. Besides criminal litigation matters, Kevin also handled a variety of matters such as contractual disputes, corporate and commercial matters.
Hakeem started his law career by commencing his pupillage at Messrs Shafee & Co under the tutelage of Tan Sri Dato Sri Shafee bin Abdullah and was admitted to the High Court of Malaya at Kuala Lumpur in 2013. Hakeem then continued his career at the same Messrs Shafee & Co which specialises in complex criminal and civil litigation matters (2013-2015) as a Legal Associate. He then pursued to another two (2) distinct firms in Kuala Lumpur namely Messrs Bodipalar Ponnudurai De Silva (2015) and Messrs Hisham & Partners (2015-2016) as a Litigation Associates.
Prior to joining Messrs Rohamat & Ling in 2022, Hakeem was a named partner at Messrs The Chambers of KK Tan (2017-2021) and Messrs Al Firdaus Syed Ismat & Co (2016-2017).
During the path of his practice, he gained extensive litigation experience in both Civil and Criminal cases. Not limited to that, he was also exposed to Industrial Court matters and disputes in employment.
When it comes to Criminal Litigation, Hakeem has handled and rated first rate in Penal Code Offences, Dangerous Drugs Act Offences, Immigration Act Offences, Money Laundering & Corruption cases.
In recent years, public has also known him for Defamation matters. He was involved in numerous high profile Defamation cases involving politicians and public figures.
